As in any adoption I highly recommend that everyone looking to bring a puppy/dog/cat/or ? into their family to please do the home work before committing to bringing home a new pet.
All pets require us 24/7 they are not something we can play with and then put in the closet, we must consider their well-being at all times.
To have a dog is a huge commitment, the same as having a new baby in your life.
To make sure your new puppy is to be a great new addition in the family they need socialization, and obedience training early in their life. This means the whole family needs to get involved from the beginning.
Please always remember that dogs are pack animals, they need that close bonding within the family unit as well as knowing who is the Alpha of the pack. This gives them the stability that they crave to make them feel comfortable in the pack. They do not want to be Alpha, they are more relaxed knowing there is a leader to follow.
So in the end make sure that you are ready for the challenge before you bring home that new pet, they will thank you for it.
